I give Ford an A+ for not taking the Government bailout, but a "D" for service. I have owned 6 Fords in my lifetime, but I must say that the service has always been far below that of the Toyota and Honda Dealers I have dealt with. I have had two bad experience with Ford Service, one was Lompoc Ford years back and they eventually lost the Dealership for awhile; the other is with Santa Maria Ford. I brought my truck in to them for a routine oil and tranny service and belt change. All was working well with no issues before, after I got it back, I had massive amounts of tranny oil leaking everywhere within the 2nd time of driving it. The dealer told me it was not their fault in anyway and the customer service manager was rude. After me offering to cover 2/3 of the cost and them 1/3, they refused to budge 1 cent. The Beau of Automotive Affairs met with them to no success, and corporate also called them to no avail. I'm having their error repaired at another shop which is costing $3,400. As I told Ford Corporate, I plan on buying a new car within the next year. Every car will have issues but it's how you are treated when you do. Sadly this will be my last Ford for anytime soon an possibly forever, I will definitely not buy from Santa Maria Ford.
