We purchased an Islander Spa from a dealer in Palm Desert, CA. We had to take all of the panels off to find the power cord - the manual we were given had no information whatsoever on where the power cord would be located. We had to call Islander Spas directly - the dealer where we purchased the spa was not supportive at all - in fact, they told us we were on our own. When we called Islander Spas in Fontana, Inc. we were dismayed to learn that the the main operator barely spoke English. We had to call back several days later to speak to the tech department supervisor, who told us where the power cord may be. We found the cord, filled up the spa - and IT LEAKED!!! We had to drain it. Islander Spas tech, Javier, told us he would send a technician the very next day, but no one showed up at the appointed time. We wasted half the day sitting at home, waiting for someone. We had to call Javier - he did NOT call us - and he said the truck broke down. This is an old familiar line of B.S. Because next week is Thanksgiving and we are out of town, we have to wait until December 2nd to have a technician repair the problem - if anyone even shows up. Meanwhile, our spa has been sitting on our deck, unable to be used. It's worthless. Since Islander Spas already lied to us once, we have no hopes of them ever showing up. Every day, I wish we had never bought this spa. We've had nothing but problems from the dealer and now the spa is defective. DO NOT BUY A SPA FROM ISLANDER. Find a dealer who is reputable - check everyone out first on the Better Business Bureau website. We were foolish not to have done that. Any company who has more than one complaint is NOT worth your time. I can't stress enough how important it is to do your homework FIRST before buying anything. Save yourself the heartache.
