Worst customer service I've ever had!
|
After doing some research on contractors approved through my utilities company, I decided to call and schedule an appointment for an estimate on attic and wall insulation. Green Choice Living (GCL) was fast to respond and send someone out to my home for an estimate. I agreed and signed up to have the work done and added a new sliding glass door to my contract. I am a teacher and I was on Christmas break. GLC was very cooperative and sent workers out to begin attic and wall insulation the second week of January 2013. The guys who came worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up after themselves. I was contacted a week later by Jessica at GLC to schedule the appointment to have my door installed. I told Jessica that I needed my invoice for supplies and services rendered for my rebates through my utilities companies. She informed me that they have all the paperwork I need for my rebates and that she would send it with the installers when they came to install the door. The door was installed on January 24, 2013, and the installer did not have any paperwork for me other than my completion certificate. Since the work had been completed, I signed the certificate. The next weekend we needed to turn the whole house fan on. When we did, we saw insulation flying all around in the attic through the fan slats. I went up into the attic and saw that in fact insulation was flying around. The fan box that was listed in my contract which is to prevent the insulation from blowing around was not installed. I also noticed that the level of insulation near the access panel area of the attic was at only 9 inches instead of the required 12 inches. The box around the access panel had not been installed and the insulation for the panel was not installed. I contacted GLC and left them a message about my concerns that the job had not been completed as stated in the contract. I received a voice mail from Dustin a week later and returned his call the same day. I got the answering service for the company and left another message. I called several times for over a week before I reached Dustin and was finally able to speak with him. He told me he would have the installer call me to come out and finish the work. The installer, Jesse, finally came out on 2/26/13; however, he did not bring any materials with him and said he would have to come back to finish the work. I haven't heard from him or anyone at GLC since. He also told me they would bring my paperwork and I have still not received it. I called the company again and requested them to send my paperwork and I have still not received it. I only have another week left to file for my rebates with my utilities companies and I can't get GLC to cooperate and finish the job or send me my paperwork!!!! This is beyond frustrating. GLC claims Saturday is a working day in terms of their contracts and yet the office is not open on Saturdays to speak with anyone. Green Choice Living has terrible customer service! I'm so sorry I chose them to perform the work. I even looked them up on the BBB to see if they had any complaints and they have 12 complaints against them for billing, service, and products. I had read positive reviews for them on here and didn't even think about checking BBB earlier. I wish I had. I want GLC to complete the work as stated in my contract and I want my paperwork returned to me promptly, even if someone has to drive it to me this week so that I can be done with them. As I mentioned I'm a teacher and I'm also a single mom. Money is precious and I need to take advantage of all rebates offered to me. After all, the contractors get rebates from the state of California for their energy saving services. Update 7/1/13. The company has closed and I still have no resolution. I submitted the rebate application anyway and I was denied for not enough information.
