Went to get my vehicle (98 Toyota Camry) smog checked today, and I called before hand to get the price. The owner directed me to go to their website "allamericansmogtestonly.com" and print the coupon for $34.75. He advised the total would be $44.75 for everything, including a $10 fee for a "certificate."
My wife printed the coupon and went to drop off the car while I was at work. She told the owner that I called a few minutes prior, and he (the owner) worked on the car. He told her that there was an extra charge for "certificate" and she returned with a credit card bill of $58.00.
I believe that there was some deception involved with this transaction. Over the phone he told me one total price and he charged extra. Called the owner, and he refused to explain the price discrepancy, other than there was an extra charge for a certificate. I told him I would call the credit card company and let them handle the dispute. He proceeded to tell me that if I cancelled the charge, he would charge again (without my authorization, I believe this is illegal).
Disappointed with this place. Instead of getting a loyal customer he will lose business over an dishonest 15 dollars.
